Description / Requirements

Our client is a well-established company operating in energy industry and seeking to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel, specialized in Mergers and Acquisitions.

The right incumbent will undertake role and responsibilities as follows:

  • Provides legal services in the area of Mergers and Acquisitions.

  • Oversees and is responsible for all aspects of mergers and acquisitions transactions.

  • Negotiates, drafts, reviews and implements contracts, agreements and other legal documents of Company transactions, ensuring accuracy of policies and procedures

  • Interacts and coordinates with external and internal stakeholders (including cooperating lawyers/advisors etc.).

  • Drafts and reviews a broad range of contracts related to the operations of various business lines, while takes appropriate control and legal actions when required.

  • Ensures work is compliant with procedures and standard documents.

  • Considers regulatory issues at all times and reports any concerns as appropriate.

  • Reports to Legal Affairs & Compliance Director and Collaborates with other members of his/her team for the assigned projects.

Candidate Profile

  • Legal qualification (LLB) in Business Law, Corporate or Commercial Law. Postgraduate studies will be considered a plus

  • Minimum 8 years of experience within a corporate environment or in a large corporate law firm

  • Proven track record in M&A transactions

  • Impeccable verbal and written English skills

  • IT literacy

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build relationships and work effectively with partners/ key stakeholders

  • Ability to manage assigned tasks in an assertive, efficient and timely manner.

  • Attention to detail, strong analytical and critical thinking

  • Ability to identify legal risks and propose solutions

  • Results driven disposition

  • Leadership mindset with people coaching/ development capabilities
